Bahrain Chamber inks MoU with Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce in order to boost economic cooperation.

The MoU signifies the commitment of both parties to strengthening trade relations and capitalizing on the promising opportunities in various sectors. Further, it sets the framework for closer economic ties and mutual growth between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Hong Kong.

The deal was signed by Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, and Jonathan Lampert, Chairman of the Asia, Africa, and Middle East Committee at the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, on the sidelines of hosting a high-level business delegation from Hong Kong.

During the meeting, Nass emphasized the importance of fortifying the economic partnership and facilitating business projects and investments between the private sectors of both countries to drive growth, prosperity, and sustainable development, while advancing the mutual interests of both sides.

For his part, Lambert emphasized the longstanding trade relations between the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He urged the activation of mutual agreements to achieve desired growth in these relations, translating into increased trade and economic cooperation between both sides.

During the bilateral meeting, economic developments in Bahrain and Hong Kong were discussed, with a focus on renewable energy, industrial projects, construction, healthcare, general trade, and financial technology sectors.

Khalid Mohammed Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, highlighted the continuous development and growth of bilateral relations between Bahrain and Hong Kong across various fields.

Najibi stressed the importance of improving coordination between the private sectors of both countries to maximize trade volume.
